Laura Holmes Haddad will discuss the experience of being diagnosed with cancer at an age that many adults consider to be their “prime time,” during which they build careers, homes, and families. Holmes Haddad says that people in this phase of life experience cancer differently than do older adults, who account for the largest number of patients diagnosed with cancer.

2019 ACCC Award Winners
The 36th National Oncology Conference is an opportunity for ACCC to confer special recognition to members of the oncology community who have distinguished themselves in service to patients and families, the general public, the profession, and the Association. ACCC will present three awards: The Annual Achievement Award is being presented posthumously to Arti Hurria, MD, FASCO, City of Hope; the Clinical Research Award to Ethan Basch, MD, MSc, Director, Cancer Outcomes Research Program, UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center; Professor, Hematology and Oncology; Associate Editor, Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA); and the David King Community Clinical Scientist Award to Paul D. Hansen, MD, FACS, Liver and Pancreas Surgeon, Hernia Surgeon, General Surgeon, Providence St. Joseph Health, Portland, Oregon. More information is available here.
