Call for Content

The 2023-2024 ACCC President’s Theme is (Re)Building the Oncology Workforce to Deliver Next Generation Cancer Care. Accordingly, the ACCC National Oncology Conference Task Force is opening a call for content that aligns with this theme for the ACCC 40th National Oncology Conference, Oct. 4-6, in Austin, Texas.

Examples of topics could be:

  • Recruitment and retention strategies
  • Use of technology to alleviate burnout or mitigate workforce shortages
  • Solutions to improve resiliency and morale, such as a chief wellness officer
  • Mentoring programs
  • Succession planning and strategies to identify and develop new and diverse leaders
  • Innovative staffing models, for example increased use of APPs when faced with physician shortages, job-sharing to keep young mothers in the workforce, etc.
  • Career ladders for all members of the multidisciplinary care team
  • Strategies for ensuring all staff are working at top of license
  • Partnering to make early career healthcare training available to historically minoritized or marginalized youths
  • Efforts to recruit a workforce more representative of local communities of care
  • Impact of diverse patient and family advisory boards on practices and policies

You will be notified of acceptance or regret via email by June 5, 2023. If selected for a session, ACCC will pay all travel expenses and one night’s hotel stay for speaker(s). If selected for a poster, authors will be expected to travel and attend the conference (meeting registration will be waived) and to be present during the dedicated poster session.

Deadline for poster abstract submission is May 29, 2023.
