[Publication] Survivorship Care Plans for Patients Receiving Immunotherapy

Cancer survivors have multiple, complex needs related to quality of life and risk of recurrence as well as psychological, social, and economic concerns. While the side effect trajectories of traditional cancer therapies (chemotherapy, radiation therapy, surgery, and targeted therapy) are well known, the side effects of immunotherapy agents differ and immune-related adverse events may occur months or even years post-treatment. Thus, survivorship care planning for patients treated with immunotherapy represents a new frontier.

ACCC’s Immuno-Oncology Institute has developed the Survivorship Care Plans for Patients Receiving Immunotherapy as a resource for cancer programs and practices. The publication describes processes for developing survivorship care plans (SCPs) for patients treated with immunotherapy, effective practices in SCP design, and considerations for SCP delivery for this patient population.
