Rockville, Md. — During its 43rd Annual Meeting, CANCERSCAPE, on March 31, 2017, the Association of Cancer Care Centers (ACCC) will introduce its first official class of Board Appointees. In keeping with the new election model that was enacted in March 2016, the Nominating Committee has appointed five members to serve on the Board of Trustees. The selection process was centered on identifying members who would not only make excellent additions to the Board, but also best reflect the rich diversity of the ACCC multidisciplinary membership. The five appointees include two members who will serve their second terms.
Newly Appointed Board of Trustees Members
Melanie Feinberg, Director, Oncology Quality, Maine Medical Center/MaineHealth, specializes as a cancer registrar and currently serves as the Quality, Information, and Research Manager, for Maine Medical Center and MaineHealth Oncology.
Kashyap Patel, MD, Managing Partner, Carolina Blood & Cancer Care Associates, is a board certified hematologist/oncologist who specializes in palliative care.
Laeton J. Pang, MD, MPH, FACR, FACRO, Pacific Radiation Oncology, LLC, is a practicing radiation oncologist who works to stay ahead of the curve on leading-edge treatments and technology in order to offer the best options to his patients during their difficult experience in fighting cancer.
Returning Appointed Board of Trustees Members
Catherine Brady-Copertino, BSN, MS, OCN, Executive Director, Anne Arundel Medical Center, DeCesaris Cancer Institute, provides strategic and operational leadership to her team with her extensive background in nursing and administration.
Cecilia R. Zapata, MS, MHA, Director, Regional/Global Network and Physician Educational Outreach, Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, specializes in health administration and has led the organization through an 18-month strategic planning process to successfully identify primary focus programs.
