Washington, DC – The Association of Cancer Care Centers (ACCC) today announced the new Board of Trustees and Executive Committee for 2025-2026. The Board and committee members were elected to their roles by their peers at the ACCC 51st Annual Meeting & Cancer Center Business Summit held this week in Washington, DC.
Una Hopkins, DNP, MSN, BSN, FNP-BC, NE-BC, RN, Director for Research and Evidence-Based Practice at Montefiore Medical Center, NY, will lead the organization for the next year as ACCC President. “Today, at the ACCC House of Delegates Meeting, I shared that my presidential theme for the next year will be Designing Oncology Care to Meet the Needs of a Growing Patient Population,” announced Hopkins. “By focusing on workforce empowerment, capacity-building, technology integration, and optimized service line structures, ACCC can help to create a future where innovative care models and interdisciplinary collaboration thrive, ultimately improving patient outcomes and reducing disparities in cancer care.”
Hopkins oversees and leads nurse engagement in research programs and evidence-based practices at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, New York. Hopkins has devoted her personal time volunteering with ACCC for 13 years and has spent the past year in a leadership role as President-Elect. Highly awarded for her extensive clinical and research work, Hopkins received her doctorate from Pace University in New York City.
Douglas Flora, MD, LSSBB, Executive Medical Director of Oncology Services at St. Elizabeth Healthcare, KY, will serve as President-Elect. Jorge Garcia, PharmD, MS, MHA, who is the Assistant Vice President at Baptist Health South Florida, will continue in his role as Secretary, while Nadine Barrett, PhD, MA, MS, Senior Associate Dean for Community Engagement and Equity in Research at Wake Forest University School of Medicine and Atrium Health, will transition to serve as Immediate Past President. J. Renea Austin-Duffin, MPA, FACCC, Vice President, Cancer Support and Outreach at the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center in Louisiana, was elected to serve on the Board of Trustees as Treasurer. Together, the Executive Committee will lead the development of educational programs and advocacy efforts for the association.
