With this project ACCC seeks to gain deeper insight on the impact variations in dispensing models within hospitals, health systems, or practice groups has on patient-centered cancer care delivery, coordination of care as patients transition between care settings, and optimal pharmacy operations. Important components of coordinated, patient-focused care delivery may be affected by decisions related to adoption of particular dispensing models in oncology. These decisions, in turn, may be influenced by multiple factors including:

  • Organizational culture and structure
  • Commitment to empower pharmacy staff to work at top of these licenses
  • Technology integration challenges in dispensing
  • Performance metrics
  • Payment models
  • Internal and external specialty pharmacy relationships
