Manish A. Vira, MD, Chief of Urologic Oncology at the Northwell Cancer Institute in New Hyde Park, NY. Dr. Vira leads the urologic oncology program in the Smith Institute for Urology. He is an associate professor of urology at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. He specializes in both open and robotic approaches to complex urologic oncology patients. He is the principal investigator of multiple industry sponsored, NCI cooperative group and investigator initiated clinical trials in GU oncology.
Dr. Vira earned his bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from Rice University. He earned his medical degree from Weill Medical College of Cornell University. He completed his internship in general surgery at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. He completed his residency in urology at the University of Pennsylvania. He then completed his fellowship in urologic oncology at the National Cancer Institute, National Institutes of Health.
