Gary Thomas, MD, attended medical school at the Medical University of South Carolina and completed his residency in internal medicine at the Medical College of Georgia, and fellowship in medical oncology and hematology at the Comprehensive Cancer Center of Wake Forest University, the Bowman Gray School of Medicine.
Following his fellowship, Dr. Thomas returned to his home state and began serving the residents of South Carolina Lowcountry. He has been medical director of St. Joseph’s/Candler-SC Cancer Specialists since 2012, and has served on a number of committees, been published in nearly a dozen scientific publications, and is a member of several scientific and professional societies including the American Society of Clinical Oncology, American College of Physicians, and American Cancer Society.
Dr. Thomas is board certified in medical oncology by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is licensed to practice in both South Carolina and Georgia.
