Ahmed Galal is currently a Professor of Medicine at Duke University, School of Medicine and a staff member in the Division of Malignant Hematology and Cell Therapy, at Duke Cancer Center. His clinical research is currently focused on lymphoproliferative disorders and CAR-T therapy. Dr. Galal serves as a member on the Duke Oncology IRB and is the Chair of the Hematology Exam of The Royal College of Canada, for the International Section.
Dr. Galal received his MD in 1987 from Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt and obtained a Master of Clinical Pharmacology in 1993, from Universite de Montreal. He completed training and certification in Hematological Pathology at Dalhousie University, Halifax, 1993-1997, Internal Medicine at Dalhousie University, Halifax, 1997-1999, Clinical Hematology at University of Western Ontario, London, 1999-2001, and Stem Cell Transplant Fellowship at University of Toronto, 2001-2003.
