Dr. Sayuri Cheruvu is an oncologist at Michiana Hematology Oncology (MHO) located in South Bend. With a dedication to providing compassionate care, Dr. Cheruvu has been serving the South Bend community for the past 5 years.
Prior to joining MHO, Dr. Cheruvu embarked on a unique journey as a locum oncologist, undertaking long-term assignments in Guam and Alaska, where she honed her skills and broadened her experience in the field of oncology.
Born in Japan to Indian parents, Dr. Cheruvu's multicultural background is reflected not only in her personal life but also in her professional approach. Her first name, Sayuri, carries the essence of her Japanese connection. Her family relocated to India during her childhood, where she pursued her medical education.
Dr. Cheruvu completed her medical school training in India before moving to the United States to further her career. She completed her residency at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio, followed by a fellowship at the University of Cincinnati, where she specialized in oncology.
Beyond her professional commitments, Dr. Cheruvu finds joy in spending quality time with her husband and two daughters. She embraces a balanced lifestyle and enjoys indulging in hobbies such as sewing, traveling, and practicing yoga, which help her unwind and rejuvenate.
