
Ahmed Galal is currently a Professor of Medicine at Duke University, School of Medicine and a staff member in the Division of Malignant Hematology and Cell Therapy, at Duke Cancer Center. His clinical research is currently focused on lymphoproliferative disorders and CAR-T therapy. Dr. Galal serves as a member on the Duke Oncology IRB and is the Chair of the Hematology Exam of The Royal College of Canada, for the International Section.
Dr. Galal received his MD in 1987 from Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt and obtained a Master of Clinical Pharmacology in 1993, from Universite de Montreal. He completed training and certification in Hematological Pathology at Dalhousie University, Halifax, 1993-1997, Internal Medicine at Dalhousie University, Halifax, 1997-1999, Clinical Hematology at University of Western Ontario, London, 1999-2001, and Stem Cell Transplant Fellowship at University of Toronto, 2001-2003.

Amy Goodrich, RN, MSN, CRNP-AC, is a nurse practitioner in the Hematologic Malignancies Program at The Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center in Baltimore, Maryland where she manages patients with various types of hematologic malignancies, concentrating on the lymphomas. Goodrich also oversees the Cancer Center’s research nurses and is very involved in research operations. She has presented extensively on hematologic malignancies, new agents, symptom management, and a variety of topics important to oncology nursing.
She earned her undergraduate nursing degree from the University of Pittsburgh and earned her master’s degree from The Johns Hopkins University.

Dr. Pagel is a 2019 Seattle Met Top Doctor Award winner. Dr. Pagel is an international hematology expert with a world-class reputation for research and excellence in patient care. He is dedicated to individualized patient care that is based on mutual respect and trust. He is incredibly excited to be a part of the Swedish Cancer Institute. Dr. Pagel feels the work being done here is life-changing for patients and will deliver new advancements in cancer treatment for patients in the Pacific Northwest and beyond. Prior to joining Swedish, Dr. Pagel spent more than a decade as an associate member of the Clinical Research Division at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and associate professor in the Medical Oncology Division at the University of Washington.

Dr. Arana Yi is senior associate consultant and director of leukemia services at Mayo Clinic. She was the Leukemia Program Director and the Mastocytosis Multidisciplinary Program Leader at the University of New Mexico Comprehensive Cancer Center in Albuquerque, NM. Dr. Arana Yi conducts clinical trials in acute and chronic leukemias, and systemic mastocytosis. She is a member of professional organizations including American Society of Hematology, American Association for Cancer Research, Association of Clinical Research Professionals, and is a well-recognized educator and speaker in educational meetings for community oncologists, families and caregivers.
She received her medical degree at the Cayetano Heredia University in Lima, Peru, and completed residency at the University of Buffalo. She completed a Hematology/Oncology fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University and a Leukemia fellowship at University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.
