Lung Screening During COVID-19

A 24-member expert panel developed a consensus statement  that covers lung cancer screening and monitoring, evaluation, management of lung nodules,"Management of Lung Nodules and Lung Cancer Screening During the COVID-19 Pandemic: CHEST Expert Panel Report." On Wednesday, June 3, the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Innovation (CMMI) announced that, in response to the COVID-19 public health emergency (PHE), CMMI is providing new flexibilities and adjustments to current and future Innovation Center models. The announcement included changes specifically for Oncology Care Model (OCM). Learn more.

Telehealth Coverage

Expansion of Telehealth

On April 29, 2020, CMS announced additional sweeping changes to further expand telehealth coverage in response to the COVID-19 public health emergency. Learn more.

CMS has expanded telehealth coverage for Medicare beneficiaries under the 1135 waiver authority and the Coronavirus Preparedness and Response Supplemental Appropriations Act. Additionally, the HHS Office of Inspector General (OIG) is providing flexibility for healthcare providers to reduce or waive cost-sharing for telehealth visits paid by federal healthcare programs. Read CMS fact sheet. Read CMS Medicare Telehealth FAQs
