Overview:
This program will address critical updates in oncology practice, including the impact of evolving healthcare policies, advancements in AI, the importance of diversity in clinical trials, and the latest treatment guidelines for various cancers. Experts will provide insights on cybersecurity in oncology practices, the role of nurse navigation, and emerging therapeutics in early-phase clinical research. Participants will gain the knowledge needed to integrate these updates into their clinical practice, improving patient care and ensuring they stay informed about the latest developments in the field.

Oncology professionals must be aware of changes in health care policies and updates in guidelines in cancer treatment and management. These courses are designed to educate all members of the cancer care team on recent advancements in HER2-targeted therapies and approvals in therapeutics in early-phase clinical research. Participants will gain knowledge from an expert presenter on cybersecurity measures for oncology practices and personal vigilance for protecting data. Recent developments in strategies to manage gastrointestinal (GI) cancers and education in utilizing nurse navigators to deliver optimal care for patients. By attending these courses, oncology professionals will enhance their ability to deliver updated cancer treatments, including emerging therapies and optimized cancer management strategies, and improve patient outcomes.

Target Audience:
This continuing medical education (CME) activity is intended for physicians, physician assistants, nurses, pharmacists, APPs.

Learning Objectives:
At the end of this educational activity, participants should be able to:
• Identify recent changes in health care policy and understand their potential impact on oncology practice
• Summarize the role of AI in oncology, highlighting its impact on treatment decision-making, patient management, and overall care delivery
• Describe why inclusion of diverse patient populations is essential for advancing equity and quality in clinical research and identify action steps
• Apply updated evidence-based guidelines to routine care of the patient with metastatic breast cancer
• Summarize key aspects of cancer care and management related to HER2 alterations and identify new therapeutic indications in GYN cancers
• Apply the latest treatment strategies into clinical practice for managing patients with gastrointestinal malignancies
• Apply cybersecurity protection measures in oncology practices and personal life to protect patient and practice data • Summarize the role of nurse navigation in oncology, highlighting their impact on patient care and education
• Summarize the contribution of new therapeutics and identify challenges in early-phase clinical research for advancing the field of oncology

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of Physicians' Education Resource®, LLC and Texas Society of Clinical Oncology (TxSCO). Targeted Oncology Community Case Forum in Partnership with TxSCO

You’re invited to participate in the Targeted Oncology™ and Oncology Nursing News® Community Case Forum™ on Friday, September 20 at The Westin San Antonio North. HRA® offers compensation of $750 to medical oncologists/hematologists and $500 to advanced practice providers for their consultative insights.

After arriving, you’ll spend some time networking with peers while enjoying small plates and refreshments. Oncologists will then attend a case-based discussion of lung cancer or RCC and advanced practice providers will attend a case-based discussion of multiple myeloma. The event will adjourn by 5:00 PM. Don’t delay; seating is limited for each moderated discussion.
