After careful consideration, the Kansas Society of Clinical Oncology, Iowa Oncology Society, and Missouri Oncology Society have made the decision to cancel the inaugural Tri-State Cancer Summit: Collaboration. Connection. Community, on Saturday, May 16, 7:30 AM - 3:00 PM at the Sheraton Kansas City Hotel at Crown Center.
Our decision was based upon updates and recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO), as well as state and local governments. And in the last week, the number of travel advisories and restrictions being placed on health care providers, hospitals and institutions, and industry partners has quickly grown.
The health and well-being of our attendees, exhibitors, faculty, and staff is our top priority—as is the safety of your patients. With an ever-increasing number of cancer care providers on the front lines of preparing and reacting to the COVID-19 outbreak, we believe it is in everyone’s best interest to postpone the meeting.
We are here for our members and we will not waver in our commitment to provide the resources, education, and support you need to deliver the best care for your patients.
ACCC has developed a COVID-19 Resource Center to help members of the multidisciplinary care team better understand and prepare for the new challenges of treating patients with cancer during the coronavirus. Oncology State Society members have access to a robust listserv where they can share information, processes, and resources their organizations have developed in response to COVID-19 with their peers. Please share how your program or practice is experiencing an impact on supplies, scheduling, staffing, and other areas.
