Who are we?

The Montana State Oncology Society (MSOS) represents the common interests of a majority of the oncologists treating cancer in Montana. As the oncology society in Montana, we strive to provide our members with innovative resources to help them stay ahead of the shifting healthcare landscape and challenges that directly impact the high-quality care their patients deserve.

We are a Chapter Member of the Association of Community Cancer Centers and a State Affiliate of the American Society of Clinical Oncology.

To carry out our mission, we strive to:

  • Improve the quality of oncology care available to the people of Montana;
  • Maintain and advance the standards of cancer care;
  • Support oncology education;
  • Facilitate the development and use of new cancer management techniques in the community;
  • Provide effective representation of the oncology field for its members and the public;
  • Foster effective communication enhancing access to scientific, socioeconomic, research, and other relevant data; and
  • Promote collegial relationships among oncologists in the state of Montana.

In order to carry out these interests, our goals are to:

  • Affect legislation and public policy relative to patient access to cancer care;
  • Act as a resource on the "accepted medical practices" associated with cancer care;
  • Provide a forum for education of our members on current technologies and their role as accepted medical practices; and
  • Provide communications to our members and others on issues affecting patient access to cancer care and the practice of oncology.
