IOS 2024 Fellows Program

About the Program

The purpose of the IOS Fellows Program is to equip future practicing oncologists with tools that will assist in the effective delivery of cancer care. This is done through educational events, networking, and grants. The 2024 Program includes the following:

2024 EVENTS     

  • May 16th: Spring Fellows Educational Dinner Symposium 

    6:30 PM - 8:30 PM
    Orchard Green Restaurant
    521 S. Gilbert Street Iowa City, IA, 52240

    This complimentary dinner event provides a valuable educational opportunity as you look to future employment opportunities. Please note this symposium will not be awarding continuing education credits.

  • August 23rd: Fellows Dinner at the IOS Best of ASCO

    6:30 PM - 8:30 PM
    The Graduate
    210 South Dubuque St, Iowa City, IA 52240

    This event presents a valuable opportunity to interact with Fellows and build new connections before the commencement of the Best of ASCO® event taking place all day on August 24th.

    REGISTER

  • September 25th: IOS Meet and Greet at the University of Iowa
    • This event offers the opportunity to connect with IOS staff and gain insights into the valuable resources available through IOS.
  • November 14th: Fellows Networking Event
    • Join us for a fun-filled social event, providing a great chance to build connections and network with other Fellows at the University of Iowa.

AWARDS AVAILABLE

  • Fellows Travel Stipend
    Stipends are available to attend various national events (ASCO, ASH, etc). These stipends have historically been available up to $1,500, but additional funding is available under special circumstances.
  • Fellows Board Prep
    IOS provides resources to assist fellows to help with their preparation for the board. Please contact IOS Staff for more details. Please contact the IOS Executive Director, Brandon Lawrence, at blwarence@accc-cancer.org for more details
  • Fellows Awards
    IOS has available awards for fellows to use in a variety of ways. This includes assistance with research, creating poster presentations, additional travel needs, or anything else that could be of assistance to their career. These awards generally are up to $2,000, but more can be available based on the need.
