  • Electronic files are preferred. PDF/X-1A is the preferred file format. Please visit http://www.unitedlitho.com/pdf_text.htm for more information on creating high-resolution PDF files. Only one PDF file per ad. Please do not send multiple versions of files.
  • QuarkXpress, Adobe InDesign, Abode Illustrator, Macromedia Freehand, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat/high-resolution PDF, and CorelDraw are accepted.
  • For all PDF files, all art and fonts should be embedded and in CMYK mode. Spot colors will be converted to CMYK.
  • For application files, include all fonts used in the file along with placed or embedded graphics. For type 1 fonts, all screen and printer fonts must be included.
  • All ads must be in high-resolution format (300 dpi), including all artwork and photographs used.
  • Electronic ad files will be archived for one year from the date last used and then erased.
  • Include a proof of the ad for comparison of type and images. If the ad is four-color, a matchprint or SWOP-certified proof is required. If the appropriate proofs are not included with the ad materials, Oncology Issues cannot be held responsible for output discrepancies. The advertiser will be billed for any costs incurred if Oncology Issues produces the proof.
  • Film may be submitted at an additional cost of $150 charge and must be received three days before the materials deadline. Ads must be film negative or camera-ready for offset printing. Negatives must be right reading, emulsion side down. Density of 4-color negatives cannot exceed 280%. Negatives will be held for 12 months from date last used and then destroyed, unless specific instructions are received. The publisher is not responsible for errors due to improper file preparation by the advertiser.

Electronic ads will be accepted on CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R, DVD+R, and ZIP discs (100MB and 250 MB).

Late Materials
For contracts with specified positions and issues, last copy will be repeated if materials are not received by closing date.

Cancellations
Written notice must be received no later than 30 days preceding publication date. Cancellations will not be accepted after applicable closing dates. Advertiser will be responsible for any production and creative services provided by Oncology Issues regardless of the cancellation of advertiser’s advertising.
