Newport Beach, CA - Hoag seeks a visionary, innovative, and nationally recognized oncology leader to serve as Executive Medical Director (EMD) of Hoag Family Cancer Institute (HFCI). This is an outstanding opportunity to lead a high-quality, patient-centered, research-driven cancer institute within an exceptional integrated delivery system. This major leadership position is accompanied by an Endowed Chair and the EMD will serve as a member of Hoag’s Executive Management Team. This physician leader will have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity of opening a new cancer hospital in 2026 on the Hoag, Irvine campus as the HFCI continues to expand.

Hoag, based in Orange County, California, is a growing healthcare system anchored by three acute hospitals with over 600 beds and $2 billion in revenue. Hoag differentiates itself through its hybrid model of nimble decision-making, high clinical quality, and research discovery to better serve patients. HFCI is the largest volume oncology provider in Orange County.

The successful candidate will have a track record of progressive leadership experience in building and leading a thriving multidisciplinary cancer program and an extensive background in clinical research. They will bring an executive presence, innovative thinking, strong business acumen, and previous philanthropic experience. An MD/DO degree and current Board Certification in medical oncology is required, as well as eligibility for licensure in the State of California. An additional advanced degree is desirable.

The estimate of the base salary range for this position is $700,000 - $800,000. This position is still being evaluated to determine the full compensation range, but offered salaries will be determined within the job’s salary range and established based on market data, experience, and expertise of the individual. It may also vary based on clinical incentive-based compensation.
