The American Oncology Network, LLC (AON) is an alliance of physicians and seasoned healthcare leaders partnering to ensure the long-term success of community oncology. Launched in 2018, our rapidly growing network represents physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants at multiple care sites across the country. The executive management team brings more than three decades of oncology practice management experience, enabling physicians to focus on what matters most – providing the highest quality care for patients. Currently we are in 16 states, have over 100 physicians, and growing!

A long-standing practice in the heart of Louisiana is seeking a qualified hematologist-oncologist to join its team. The successful candidate will join a robust practice with locations in Baton Rouge, and Zachary in its new location partnered with Rapides Regional Medical Center and be joining two experienced physicians.

Opportunity Highlights:

  • State-of-the-art facility including 6 exam rooms and 14 chemotherapy chairs.
  • Offering infusion therapy, including chemotherapy and immunotherapy, an in-house laboratory performing all routine blood work on-site and an in-house specialty pharmacy.
  • The first TrueBeam linear accelerator in Central Louisiana to provide the latest technology in radiation oncology on-site.
  • In early 2022, RRMC will open the Rapides Breast and Diagnostic Center and install the first 64-slice PET CT Scanner to be located in a cancer center in Louisiana, allowing oncologists to pinpoint the precise tissue location of tumors.
  • The 7,700 square-foot HOC at Rapides opened this January in 2022 with 3 experienced physicians leading the efforts while we find the right candidates.

Patients will have access to clinical trials, care management support, including nutrition guidance, Oncology Care Model participation and financial counseling.

Alexandria is the 9th largest city in the state, very close to an international airport and close enough to spend weekends in New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and many more fun cities surrounding this gorgeous warm location!
