Submission Details:

  • Abstracts may be previously evaluated and must not exceed 250 words, excluding space, authors, and institutions.
  • Titles should include significant words that reflect the content of the abstract but not refer to the results or conclusions.
  • Proprietary names must not be used alone. If necessary, you may include a proprietary name in parenthesis after the first mention of the generic name in the body of the abstract.
  • Abbreviations must be placed in parentheses immediately after the first mention of a term or phrase; the abbreviation can then be used throughout the abstract. Take particular care to identify complex chemotherapy regimens accurately.
  • Abstracts must be accompanied by contact information for the first author (presenter): biography/CV, disclosure(s), institution, address, telephone and fax number, and email. Verify that all co-authors are aware of the contents of the abstract and support its data. Include the name and institution for each co-author associated with the abstract. First authors will receive a confirmation email verifying the abstract has been received.

Abstracts will be judged solely on the data included in the submitted abstract. Statements such as “further data will be available” are discouraged.

Four (4) winners will be selected to receive up to $1,500 and present their findings at the TxSCO 2022 Annual Conference on Saturday, October 22 at the JW Marriott Houston Downtown. Additional winners may be awarded with a chance to display their research poster—virtually—along with a 2-3-minute narrative on our website.

*This competition is exclusive to Fellows in Texas. Fellows will be prompted to create a free account to submit their abstract (if they have not previously submitted).
