Position Summary:

The Director will be responsible for the design, implementation and oversight of programs and best practices that ensure optimal standardization, integration, growth and quality at all ambulatory medical oncology practices and infusion centers across HHC. The Director will successfully lead by influence teams of physicians, leaders and staff across multiple sites and work in a collaborative style within a matrixed, complex medical environment to achieve Cancer Institute goals.  The Cancer Institute seeks to meet and exceed national benchmarks for quality, value and effectiveness and create new models of cancer care delivery through strategic partnerships with national leaders in healthcare.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Engage physicians and staff across the system to develop clinical treatment standards and quality and outcome measures to ensure a single standard of care across all HHC locations
  • In collaboration with regional operational leadership, design and implement processes to address key clinical needs, practice issues, and patient experience 
  • Drive clinical service optimization through the adoption of best practices related to medical oncology and infusion
  • Lead system-wide projects related to medical oncology and infusion improvement and/or growth and deliver on-time and on-budget results
  • Serve as a thought leader on value based care models and guide planning to transform care to align with such models
  • Ensure compliance with all standards of accreditation and certification programs related to medical oncology and infusion
  • Understand key market opportunities and trends related to medical oncology and infusion to support market expansion and growth strategy
  • Evaluate technology to support effective operations and when applicable, make recommendations regarding capital planning
  • Guide the development of volume, revenue and capital forecasts across the system and support the analysis of variances and development of countermeasures in collaboration with regional leadership
  • Serve as the leader of medical oncology and infusion pillars, and in partnership with the physician partner, lead the Medical Oncology Clinical Council
  • Recommend and develop internal policies and procedures related to medical oncology and infusion
  • Ensure the appropriate training and development of staff to medical oncology and infusion best practices and policies and procedures
  • Participate in strategic, short range and long range planning for the Cancer Institute

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s and Master’s degree, either in a health care field required 
  • Five plus years of experience in managing Medical Oncology and Infusion operations
  • CT licensure as an RN or the ability to obtain licensure is required
  • Experience in effectively implementing organizational change initiatives at a system-level
  • Visible leader with excellent interpersonal communication skills who relates well with all levels of the organization
  • Highly effective analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrates exceptional communication and engagement skills in working within a large healthcare system
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and delegate accordingly in a fast-paced working environment
