Job Summary:

In conjunction with the Executive Director, the Manager has responsibility, authority, and accountability for providing direction and leadership to "activities" which increase quality, improve service, increase revenue and decrease costs within assigned inpatient and outpatient care units on a 24-hour basis.

Essential Functions:

  • Coordinate and participate in the hiring, orienting, training, evaluating and disciplining, including suspension and termination, of associates and physicians under his / her authority. Continuously assess, recommend, implement and evaluate revisions in staffing plans in compliance with established standards and goals.
  • Organize and direct activities within respective patient care service units. Participate in the development of patient care practice policies, procedures, and programs, which focus on exemplary, quality patient care in accordance with safe, therapeutic, evidence-based patient care standards.
  • Maintain knowledge of current JC, medical oncology, and radiation oncology standards and assists to ensure Lakeland achieves and maintains health care accreditation. Adhere to state and federal regulatory requirements.
  • Develop, coordinate and monitor compliance of the fiscal budgets for respective patient service units. Develop, implement and evaluate performance improvement plans designed to measure the respective service unit’s patient care programs.
  • Collaborate with the medical staff on issues of patient care and promotes communication between unit personnel, medical staff, administration, and outside agencies, participating in select medical staff departmental meetings and committees as necessary.
  • Identify standards of performance in guest relations and monitors activity of all personnel against these standards. Act a guest relations role model and serves as a resource to patients and families. Adhere and ensure compliance to the organization’s traits and values.
  • Cultivate a team approach when interacting and participating in appropriate meetings to assure collaboration between patient service units and other disciplines / ancillaries. Maintain work climate conducive to professional staff development.
  • Function as a change agent, identifies barriers to comprehensive health-care delivery, modifies behavior, and introduces new approaches to patient

Qualifications:

  • Required Bachelor's Degree
  • Preferred Master's Degree
  • 2 years of relevant experience of experience in an oncology related inpatient or outpatient service unit and demonstrated management ability. Required
  • CRT-Nuclear Medicine Technologist - NMTCB Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board
