IOS Quality Award Program

The Iowa Oncology Society (IOS) has developed the IOS Quality Award Program to award funds to assist its smaller member practices in completing their ASCO QOPI certification requirements. However, the long-term goal of the program is for all practices in Iowa to become QOPI certified. The program will be evaluated on an annual basis to determine if funding is available for continuation and/or expansion.

IOS will award funds through the IOS Quality Award Program to eligible member practices based on the following requirements:

• An eligible oncology practice is defined as:
  • 1-6 FTE medical oncologist(s)/hematologist(s);
  • No more than 5 additional office locations; and
  • At least one physician in the practice who is a Regular Member of IOS and a current member of ASCO.
• The practice must be willing to enter into the certification process and register for ASCO’s QOPI.**
• Applicant must complete and submit the online IOS Quality Award Program application (below) and a W–9 form by email to labankert@accc-cancer.org. *Note: Proof of registration for QOPI is required.
• Applicant must agree to complete a 6–month evaluation from IOS to help determine the effectiveness of the program.

**NOTE: If you applied for or received QOPI certification in calendar year 2017, you are eligible to complete an award form to be considered for reimbursement.
