Susan Ash-Lee, MSW, LCSW, is the vice president of Clinical Services and Education at Cancer Support Community (CSC) in Lone Tree, Colorado, where she leads all education and clinical program services, including in-person, telephonic, and digital support— all critical components of the $50 million in free services CSC provides patients and their loved ones each year. She has focused her career on building robust supportive care oncology programs which include psychosocial research, integrated psychosocial support, advanced illness coordination, and post-treatment survivorship. She is particularly interested in how resiliency models and positive psychology interventions can increase well-being, enhance life satisfaction, and personal growth and change. Her articles have appeared in publications such as the JOP and the Journal of Psychosocial Oncology.

Ms. Ash-Lee currently serves as faculty for the Society for Social Work Leadership in Health Care’s Leadership Institute, psychosocial staff for Casting for Recovery, and is a member of the client services advisory council for Project Angel Heart. She was the 2010 recipient of the American Psychosocial Oncology Society’s “Outstanding Clinical Care Award”. Prior to joining CSC, Ash-Lee was the director of clinical social work at Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers, Colorado’s largest provider of cancer care.

Ms. Ash-Lee earned her bachelor’s degree in English from Westmont College and her master’s degree in social work from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She holds a clinical social work license in both Colorado and California.

A native of Louisiana, J. Renea Austin-Duffin is an accomplished and proven leader in the private sector and government. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business/Public Administration from Louisiana State University and a Master of Public Administration degree from Southern University.

Upon completing her Master’s degree, Renea served her state for 13 years in both the legislative and executive branches. From 1996 through 2001, Renea served in Governor Mike Foster’s administration as first, the undersecretary of the Department of Social Services, then Deputy Commissioner of Administration for Policy, and ultimately Secretary of the Department of Social Services during his second term. Renea joined the state’s largest private health insurer, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana, in November 2001 as Senior Vice President for Member and Community Relations. She also served as the Corporate Diversity Officer and President of the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana Foundation.

In summer 2006 Renea put her professional career on pause and became full-time caregiver to her sister who was living with cancer. This life changing experience inspired her to seek “success with significance”. Since February 2007 she has served as the Vice-President of Cancer Support and Outreach at Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center. She is responsible for the oversight and strategic development for mission-based programs and services within a 30-parish service area to lessen the burden of cancer in the community. These programs include education, research and early detection, including the management of three mobile medical clinics. She also responsible for the Cancer Centers grants management program which has a portfolio of grants in excess of $5 million. Renea also serves as the governmental affairs liaison for the Cancer Center at local, state and federal level.

While her professional career and community service are important, she views her most challenging and rewarding role as those of wife to her husband, Morise L. Duffin, Jr., and mother to her son, Morise L. Duffin, III (Trey) who is a junior at Xavier University of Louisiana.

Douglas Flora, MD, LSSBB, FACCC, serves as the Executive Medical Director of Oncology Services at St. Elizabeth Cancer Center and is a key player in developing a nationally recognized lung cancer screening program at St. Elizabeth Healthcare. Dr. Flora was named the Robert and Dell Ann Sathe Endowed Chair in Oncology. He serves on the Board of Directors for the American Cancer Society, the Association of Community Cancer Centers, and the Kentucky Society of Clinical Oncology.

Dr. Flora has a history of measurable success in managing all operations, including project management, policy development, staff engagement, budget planning, research, public education, and patient service. He applies Lean Six Sigma methodologies to improve patient experience and staff productivity. He is the Physician Leader instrumental in the development/launch of the Center for Precision Medicine & Genomic Health.

He was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, graduating from The Ohio State University College of Medicine in 1999. Dr. Flora has been named a Cincinnati Magazine “Top Doctor” in hematology and oncology for consecutive years since 2005.

Jaime Grund, LGC, is the director of the Center for Precision Medicine and Breast Centers at St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Edgewood, KY.  She currently manages two diagnostic sites, five screening sites, and mobile mammography.  As a licensed genetic counselor, she worked in clinical genetic counseling for twenty years in healthcare facilities across the country, including Phoenix, Detroit, Cincinnati, and Northern Kentucky, before establishing the Department of Precision Medicine at St. Elizabeth in 2018.

Since 2018, the program has grown from a two-person consultative service into an established clinical department serving the community in the areas of precision oncology, pharmacogenomics, hereditary cancer prevention, cardiovascular genetics, and perinatal screening and testing.

Originally from a suburb of Kansas City, Ms. Grund earned her bachelor’s degree in biology at Kansas State University and her master’s in genetics from the University of Arizona.

Regina Jacob, MD, MSCE, is an associate professor of Clinical Medicine and director of the Social Determinants of Health Curriculum for the Internal Medicine Residency Program at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University in North Philadelphia.  She is also the medical director of Temple Internal Medicine Associates. Her clinical interests include survivorship medicine for cancer survivors, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and post traumatic growth following a diagnosis of lymphoma. Her research interests.

Dr. Jacob has two main research interests which include assessing psychological adjustment and co-morbid medical conditions.  She conducted a study, Coping with Lymphoma to Enhance Adjustment and Reduce Stress, which assessed the psychological adjustments that may occur after a diagnosis of lymphoma.  Her second research interest involves assessing co-morbid conditions that result from chronic and cumulative trauma exposure.  She is currently conducting a study, Trauma Alert! How Social Complexity Contributes to Medical Complexity, which assesses the prevalence of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), adverse childhood experiences, depression, and co-morbidity in an underserved primary care population. She also continues to grow her cancer survivorship expertise in education, designing curricula to educate internal medicine residents on how to appropriately tailor primary care for patients with a history of cancer.

Dr. Jabcob received her MD from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C., completed her internal medicine residency at Temple University Hospital, and earned a master’s degree in Clinical Epidemiology at The Weill Cornell Medical College of Cornell University in Manhattan, New York.

Jacob K. Kettle, PharmD, BCOP, is currently the pharmacy manager for the Ellis Fischel Cancer Center and ambulatory infusion unit at the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO. Prior to his administrative work, Dr. Kettle spent more than a decade in oncology clinical practice both at the University of Missouri and the Kansas City Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Dr. Kettle also serves as an adjunct clinical professor for the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Pharmacy, is a member of the Association of Community Cancer Centers’ Clinical Affairs Committee and serves as Chair of the Health Network of Missouri’s Oncology Task Force.  

Dr. Kettle received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2007, graduating summa cum laude from the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Pharmacy. He completed a pharmacy practice residency at the Kansas City Veterans Affairs Medical Center and a hematology/oncology pharmacy residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center.

 Dr. Kettle has published original research in multiple peer-reviewed journals, and he was the 2011 recipient of the Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Association Basic Science and Clinical Research Literature Award. In addition, Dr. Kettle has spoken nationally on emerging hematology and oncology topics, including oral antineoplastics and immunotherapy.

John J. Montville, MBA, FACHE, FACMPE, COA is the executive director of the oncology service line at Mercy Health Lourdes Hospital.  He is an oncology executive with nearly three decades of oncology management and operations experience working across multiple organizations, health systems, and hospitals in both the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors.  He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE), a Fellow of the American College of Medical Practice Executives (FACMPE), and a certified oncology administrator (COA).  He holds expertise in oncology operations, billing, development, revenue cycle review, and logistics.

Mr. Montville is active on multiple Association of Community Cancer Centers (ACCC) committees as well as committees for the Association of Cancer Executives and the American College of Medical Practice Executives, where he also serves as Professional Papers Committee Team Leader.  He has been a regular presenter at national oncology meetings and has been published in multiple oncology journals and publications. He holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing and a master’s in business administration.

Margaret (Peg) O'Grady, RN, MSN, OCN, FAAMA is the administrative director of the oncology service line at the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center at Jefferson Health in Abington, Pennsylvania. She oversees ambulatory care teams in a free-standing outpatient oncology facility, managing radiation, medical oncology, surgical oncology, support services, and cancer registry. Her work has enhanced the research enterprise with disease specific programming and helped to build a robust research relationship with the Asplundh Cancer Pavilion - Sydney Kimmel Cancer Center. Her research interests include Six Sigma strategies for health outcomes research, quality metrics development, assessing research program infrastructure, developing ambulatory care programs, transition of care, and navigation, and she has been published in breast and colorectal navigation processes.

Ms. O’Grady was the former Director of Nursing for the Sydney Kimmel Cancer Center Medical Oncology division. Prior to this, she was the Senior Director of Fox Chase Partners Program for the Fox Cancer Center, the first cancer center network in the United States, supporting the development of 30+ institution consortium of cancer centers. She is the Vice Chair of the Pennsylvania Cancer Advisory Board to the Governor of Pennsylvania and served as president of the Pennsylvania Society of Oncology and Hematology, the state-wide American Society of Clinical Oncology group, and the American Academy of Medical Administrators.

Ms. O’Grady earned her nursing degree from Holy Family University, a master’s degree in nursing and business administration from La Salle University, and has completed the Six Sigma certificate program at Villanova University. She is oncology nursing certified by the Oncology Nursing Society.

Leigha Senter, MS, LGC, FACCC, is a licensed genetic counselor and clinical professor at The Ohio State University’s James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute where she specializes in cancer genetics risk assessment in women with gynecologic cancers. She is the Associate Director of the Division of Human Genetics.

Senter has more than 20 years of research experience in hereditary cancers with a primary focus in BRCA gene-related projects with more than 100 peer reviewed publications. She is currently a board member for the Association of Community Cancer Centers.

Senter earned a bachelor's degree in molecular genetics from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, and a master's degree in genetic counseling from the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Allison Werner-Lin, PhD, MSW, EdM, LCSW, is an associate professor at the School of Social Policy and Practice (SP2) at the University of Pennsylvania. She is also faculty director of Social Work in Health Care Specialization and a senior advisor to the National Cancer Institute. Her work explores the intersection of genomic discovery and family life, with a particular focus on adolescents and young adults from families with genetic predisposition to cancer. Dr. Werner-Lin collaborates with investigators at the Abramson Cancer Center to investigate barriers to accessing genomic medicine.

Dr. Werner-Lin also holds an appointment with the Clinical Genetics Branch of the National Cancer Institute’s Division of Cancer Epidemiology and Genetics where she oversees an interprofessional team conducting psychosocial and behavioral research on hereditary cancer syndromes. She is a licensed practicing social worker with experience in community-based organizations providing individual, family, and group counseling to families affected by cancer, and maintains a small private practice for parentally bereaved children and teens.

Dr. Werner-Lin received her PhD from the School of Social Service Administration at the University of Chicago. She holds a master’s degree in clinical social work from the University of Chicago and a master’s degree in human development and psychology from the Graduate School of Education at Harvard University.

Candace Westgate, DO, is the chief of staff elect at Adventist Health and the founder and director of the Adventist Health Early All-Around Detection (AHEAD) program, a population health cancer risk assessment and prevention program focused on the management of familial and hereditary cancer risk for patients and their families. Cancer risk assessment and prevention strongly aligns with her philosophy of practice and she believes in partnering with and empowering patients on their journey to find health.

Dr. Westgate previously served as chief of surgery and medical director of Women and Infant Services for Adventist Health. She is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology, completed her certification in women’s genomics counseling from the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and was a graduate of the 2018 City of Hope intensive course in hereditary cancer risk assessment. She holds additional certifications in advanced laparoscopy, menopausal management, and cancer genetics.

Dr. Westgate earned her medical degree from A.T. Still University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington DC, where she served as chief resident in her final year. She earned her master’s degree in public health from Tulane University, where her focus was on program management and maternal and child health, and her bachelor of science degree from Oral Roberts University.
