Responsible for business operations of all Shaw Cancer Center sites of care, including overall coordination of clinical and non-clinical functions of the medical offices. Responsible for ensuring the delivery of safe patient care by clinical staff and providers.

Essential job functions:

  1. Oversees business operations for all Shaw Cancer Center sites of care.
  2. Successfully manages the daily activities of clinical and non-clinical staff to optimize patient care, safety, and engagement; includes supervising staff, managing sick calls, allocating appropriate resources to achieve budget, and serving as liaison with other departments.
  3. Develops and coordinates quality and performance improvement efforts.
  4. Monitors, analyzes, assesses, and communicates practice progress. Considers present and planned capacity. In financial terms, considers human-power and practice needs, including facilities and technology.
  5. Develops and implements policies, procedures and objectives. Ensures their adequate execution and adherence to accreditation guidelines, as well as applicable regulatory agencies.
  6. Assists with the development and monitoring of the budget. Practices efficient and cost-effective coordination of all aspects of care.
  7. Oversees development and coordination of new office locations and their needs as required.
  8. Within scope of authority, oversees the development of systems (both manual and automated) to properly support practice-wide activities based upon business need. Directs the coordination of hardware and software requirements of existing and future systems.
  9. Advises and assists in developing organizational objectives, and plans for their achievement.
  10. Displays and promotes professional, courteous, and collaborative interaction with patients/families, providers, staff, other Vail Health departments, and leadership in meeting patient care needs and promoting teamwork.
  11. Role models the principles of a Just Culture and Vail Health Values.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned. Must be HIPAA compliant.


  • Experience:
    • Working knowledge of practice management with a minimum of 5 years management experience in an oncology practice setting.
    • Visible leader with excellent interpersonal communication skills who relates well with all levels of the organization.
  • Computer / Typing:
    • Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree required. Master Degree preferred.
