Job Summary/Purpose:

  • The Director of Operations/finance for Oncology System, under general supervision of the Oncology Service line Administrator and Oncology Network Medical Director, will integrate the network operations with the MUSC Service line to help create an integrated care delivery and economic system.
  • This position will supervise the business operations of the Oncology service line as well as joint venture oncology relationships for MUSC.
  • This position will manage the professional services agreement (PSA)with the Hematology and oncology.
  • This position reviews and monitors all financial activities, goals/metrics of the network and acts as liaison between MUSC and Affiliate sites.
  • Will manage the relationship with the MUSC Health/Alliance JV and its contracting with our Radiation Oncology affiliates.

Minimum Training and Education:

  • Master’s Degree from an accredited college/university (MHA, MHSA, MBA, MPH, or other relevant degree) and a minimum of five years of significant work experience in an academic medical center which must have included experience in strategic planning, business development, finance, and a leadership/supervisory role.
  • Demonstrated experience in projecting utilization statistics and reviewing financial projections required.
  • Experience analyzing and interpreting general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and/or governmental regulations also required.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy and completeness are essential.
  • Strong and effective interpersonal; client relations; fact finding; analytical; project management; presentation; and communication (written/verbal) skills to all levels of staff, i.e., administrators, physicians and staff required. Prior experience in oncology highly preferred.
