Epic Care is seeking a Chief Executive Officer to join its multi-specialty physician-owned Medical Group in Northern California.  Epic Care is a rapidly expanding group with 75+ physicians, 26 practice/ancillary service locations and a $150+ million budget.   


The CEO will lead our large multi-site, multi-specialty medical group and be responsible for implementing strategy and operations to advance the practice's strategic vision, mission and values.   The CEO will serve as the non-physician leader of the practice and will lead the Executive Management Council in collaboration with the President to set the direction for all practice activities as governed by the Board of Directors.


  1. Must be viewed by others as a leader who is creative, has a high degree of emotional Intelligence with strong interpersonal skills.
  2. Proven Ability to work effectively with physicians.
  3. A self-starter with a high degree of intelligence, energy and creativity.
  4. Ability to communicate and develop strong collegial relationships with the Board of Directors, physicians and staff; as well as other health organizations.
  5. Ability to delegate effectively and hold staff accountable for outcomes.


  1. Master’s degree (e.g., Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Administration).
  2. 10+ years’ years of experience in a senior leadership role for a mid to large medical group or healthcare organization.
  3. Demonstrated experience and success in health care financial operations, business planning and growth, with experience managing a $150m+ budget.
  4. Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills that include reporting to a board, managing physicians, and leading a large, multi-site physician organization.
  5. Familiarity with Office Automation tools for Data Collection and Reporting.
  6. Experience with developing and implementing strategic and targeted organization and business plans.
  7. In-depth working knowledge of health care operations, managed care, medical group management and planning, team building and change management.
  8. Knowledge, skills and abilities in contracting, negotiating, and working with external partners and vendors.
  9. Familiarity with Oncology, Surgery, and Primary Care a plus.
  10. Experience in examining and re-engineering operations for multi-specialty, multi-site medical groups.
  11. Demonstrated expertise in quality assessment and improvement initiatives, risk management and human resource management.
  12. Strong commitment to customer service, exception performance and continuous quality improvement.

The compensation package will be comprised of a base salary commensurate with experience and a performance bonus.  Additional benefits include health, dental, vision, life insurance, long-term disability coverage, a 401(k) retirement savings program with company match, and paid time off.
