The Hawaii Society of Clinical Oncology (HSCO) represents the common interests of a majority of the oncologists treating cancer in Hawaii. HSCO is a chapter member of the Association of Community Cancer Centers and an affiliate of the American Society of Clinical Oncology.

Vision Statement

The Hawaii Society of Clinical Oncology strives to be identified as the voice of Hawaii's oncologists to promote quality of oncology care through patient advocacy, continuing education, multidisciplinary engagement and participation in the public forum.

Mission Statement

The Hawaii Society of Clinical Oncology strives to represent all of its members in efforts to advance quality oncology care across Hawaii, provide a forum for all physicians interested in oncology to share their common concerns, and act as a vehicle for discussion of oncology practice, continuing education and access to quality oncology care issues.

Goals:

  • Advance quality oncology care and access across Hawaii
  • Provide a forum for all physicians interested in oncology to share their common concerns, and
  • Act as a vehicle for discussion of oncology practice, continuing education and access to quality oncology care issues.

Objectives:

  • Identify issues of concern to the membership
  • Promote grassroots advocacy by developing relationships with other oncology interested groups
  • Provide a forum for discussion on clinical trials legislation and outcomes research
  • Monitor and respond to appropriate legislative and regulatory concerns of the membership
  • Provide continuing education dinners for membership
  • Provide value to the membership
  • Enhanced communication with the membership.
