Physician Office Issues
ACCC is committed to ensuring that cancer patients have access to care, including access to the most appropriate cancer therapies. Physicians are able to provide therapies only when they receive adequate reimbursement for the costs of the drug and its administration.
Although Congress intended that the Part B drug changes in the Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement, and Modernization Act of 2003 (MMA) would produce appropriate payment rates for both drugs and drug administration services, ACCC is concerned that our country's oncology infrastructure will be irreparably harmed if CMS does not put patients first when implementing the MMA's reforms.
ACCC continues to monitor, respond, and communicate to our members any changes in Medicare reimbursement to Part B covered drugs and biologicals, drug administration, and coding.
