The Voice of Oncology in Iowa
Welcome to the Iowa Oncology Society! IOS is one of the oldest state oncology societies in the country. We are an active organization and an outspoken advocate for quality cancer care in Iowa, as evidenced by the following activities:
- IOS a proud supporter of the Iowa Cancer Consortium and its Iowa Cancer Summit.
- IOS sponsors two outstanding conferences a year for all members of the cancer care team, as well as a series of educational programs offered in collaboration with other state societies and the Association of Community Cancer Centers.
- IOS is vocal about many issues affecting our practices and our patients. We reach out to payers about the coverage of oncology services and we advocate extensively to state and federal policymakers about the shortages of chemotherapy medications and other pressing issues.
