Welcome to TACOS new website. Look at our expanded "Resource" section and especially our new "Legislative Corner," which represents a new benefit for TACOS members. We're very excited to be able to offer it.As your new president, I want to welcome you back to an organization whose goal is to serve as the meeting point for Arizona's oncologists, north and south, east and west. During my term as president, I’d like to realize this goal, and increase TACOS’ role as a unifying presence for oncology in our state.
As a medical oncologist who has practiced in Tucson for 33 years, I know many of you personally, and I am looking forward to working with you as president of TACOS. I also am pleased to say that the entire TACOS Board has been revitalized with the addition of many of your colleagues who are interested in making our organization and its educational programs valuable to all of us. We will continue to provide educational programs and resources to all members of the oncology team through our participation in the State Society Education Series and by offering both clinical and business–focused sessions at our spring and fall conferences.
As if providing our patients with the most up–to–date diagnostic and treatment methodologies isn't a big enough challenge, we also must focus on the increasingly complex business side of oncology practice. To help us with our business challenges, TACOS has added sessions to its spring membership conference on the non–clinical, practice issues we have in common. These sessions are targeted to all oncology professionals, but especially your business staff, and I hope you are encouraging them to attend. The 2012 Conference will take place on Friday, April 13 at the popular Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort in Phoenix.
Sincerely,
Steven J. Ketchel, MD, FACP
