ACCC's Compendia-Based Drug Bulletin is NOT a Medicare-recognized compendium. The Compendia-Based Drug Bulletin is a quarterly update of information on oncology drugs recognized by the two national reference compendia: The United States Pharmacopeia's (USP) Drug Information for the Health Care Professional, Volume I, or USP DI, and The American Hospital Formulary Service's Drug information (AHFS-DI).
In July 2007, one of the recognized drug compendia, the USP's USP DI Drug Information for the Health Care Professional, was succeeded by Thomson Healthcare's DrugPoints®. Because CMS has yet to provide clarity with regards to indications as they appear in DrugPoints®, ACCC has not included DrugPointsۮ in its Compendia-Based Drug Bulletin.
The Compendia-Based Drug Bulletin and the oncology drug index database accessed on this page are a resource updated in February, May, August, and November.
Every effort is made to ensure completeness and accuracy of all indications and ICD-9 codes. Coding is checked by a coding consultant. Indications are drawn from the published and online versions of the former USP DI and the current AHFS-DI.
Printed copies are mailed to ACCC members. Non-ACCC members may consider joining the Association to enjoy this and many other member benefits. Please direct your questions about the Compendia-Based Drug Bulletin and other ACCC publications to Don Jewler, ACCC Communications Director, at djewler@accc-cancer.org.
