2014 National Oncology Conference

Highlights of the ACCC 31st National Oncology Conference

Hundreds of oncology professionals gathered in San Diego for the ACCC 31st National Oncology Conference, Oct. 8-10, 2014. From sessions on precision medicine to increasing patient engagement to improving workflow, two conference tracks led to one destination: delivery of quality care. An overarching theme across sessions: Regardless of care setting, oncology care providers are facing the same challenges--new payment models, declining reimbursement, increasing competition, quality demands, and rapidly evolving technology. To meet the triple goal of improved quality, reduced cost, and enhanced services, providers will need to work together collaboratively across settings and service lines. Learn more here.

Opening Celebration

On Wednesday evening, a Grand Opening Celebration and Reception featured the San Diego Women’s Drum Circle (pictured left), and a premiere screening of a new video celebrating ACCC and its membership.

This year’s program featured more than 34 sessions in a variety of formats—from a general session on Precision Medicine, to interactive interview panels, to a crowd-sourced lunch on the lawn. Pictured left is the Fresh Air Forum session on Out-of-the-Box Community Outreach.

Peer-to-peer learning was front and center—from the New to Oncology Workshop to Think Tank sessions and Innovator Award presentations. Among attendees were more than 70 ACCC Delegate Representatives.
