Working With Media

The Association of Community Cancer Centers (ACCC), the premier education and advocacy organization for the oncology team, welcomes media interest in the Association and its activities.

ACCC works with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and Congress to ensure continued patient access in both the hospital outpatient and physician office settings. ACCC leads efforts aimed at assuring that cancer programs are adequately funded, thereby allowing our members to focus on what they do best: providing quality cancer care. Nearly 17,000 cancer care professionals from approximately 900 hospitals and more than 1,200 private practices are affiliated with ACCC. It is estimated that 60 percent of cancer patients nationwide are treated by a member of ACCC.

The Association encourages media participation at its annual national meetings, its regional oncology symposia, and its national oncology economics conference. ACCC provides complimentary registration to professional journalists representing accredited media organizations for the express purpose of gathering news and information to produce editorial coverage of the meeting.

ACCC offers the following resources to accredited members of the media:

The Association offers commentary and perspective on a variety of cancer topics and issues, including the following oncology-related areas listed below:
