ACCC Center for Provider Education: Overview

Our mission is to provide community-based cancer care programs with the skills necessary to increase their efficiency while maintaining the highest standards of quality care. The Center for Provider Education relies on educators with expertise in management of hospital and office-based cancer programs, financial analysis, policy and reimbursement, marketing, and healthcare economics to achieve this goal.

Through ACCC's Center for Provider Education, members can learn practical strategies for meeting the challenges of running a modern cancer center or group practice. Hands-on courses for physicians, practice managers, nurses, oncology pharmacists, financial officers, and coders/billers are available in cities throughout the country as well as on-line.

The Association of Community Cancer Centers (ACCC) is proud to announce the launch of the ACCC Continuing Education (CE) Blackboard, an Internet resource devoted to on-line oncology education. ACCC members will have easy access to a variety of timely oncology education programs from premier CE providers.

“ACCC’s CE Blackboard is now available on the Association’s award-winning website www.accc-cancer.org. This valuable resource provides links to multidisciplinary continuing education credits at no charge to ACCC’s 15,000-plus oncology professional members,” said LuAnne Bankert, ACCC’s senior director of programs and meetings. ACCC encourages other CE providers to list their programs and courses on the CE Blackboard.

Meniscus Educational Institute (MEI) will be the first medical education company to provide ACCC members with oncology education programs on the ACCC CE Blackboard. ACCC and MEI, a triple-accredited medical education company, have entered into an innovative collaboration that combines the strength of MEI’s expertise in oncology CE with the reach of ACCC, whose 670 member institutions/oncology practices treat 60 percent of all new cancer patients in the United States each year.
