The position calls for a Nurse Practitioner with at least two years of oncology experience in the position. A qualified individual will enjoy working with a team of seasoned cancer professionals on a dedicated oncology inpatient unit. The primary focus of the position is the solid tumor population and will be under the general supervision and in clinical collaboration with a physician. In addition to performing the H & Ps, patient assessments and diagnostic workup, admissions and therapeutic procedures, the NP will also be involved in health education and promotion, preventive health, and patient teaching. Supervision may be a function of this class, and instructional guidance is provided to nursing and other health care professionals.

Essential Requirements:
Requirements include possession of a valid license and current registration, issued by the New York State Department of Education, as a Registered Professional Nurse, and two years of experience where the primary function of the position was professional nursing, and possession of current certification as a Nurse Practitioner, with prescription writing privileges, issued by the New York State Department of Education.

SPECIAL NOTE: Education beyond the secondary level must be from an institution recognized or accredited by the Board of Regents of the New York Department of Education as a post-secondary, degree-granting institution.

Nurse Practitioner, Cancer Center, Eugene, Oregon

Summary:
The Willamette Valley Cancer Center is a community partnership comprised of the physicians of Oncology Associates of Oregon in conjunction with Peace-Health and US Oncology. Comprehensive services available at the center include advanced cancer treatments, such as radiation therapy, chemotherapy and radiation implants, plus laboratory, pharmacy, diagnostic x-ray, nutritional support, counseling, social services and support groups. At the Willamette Valley Cancer Center, most of the diagnostic and treatment options a cancer patient may need are available at one central location.

Current staff includes seven medical oncologists with plans to add two more this summer, four radiation oncologists and one nurse practitioner. Plans are under way to open a Phase One Research Program at a new site later this year. We are seeking an experienced nurse practitoner with oncology experience to join this group.

Essential Requirements:
Licensure in state of Oregon as RN and certification as Nurse Practitioner is required. ACON certification preferred.
