Clinic Manager, Oncology, Nashville, Tennessee

Due to our continued growth we are seeking an experienced Oncology Clinic Manager for our Tennessee Oncology Blood & Marrow Transplant (BMT) Centennial clinic location.

Summary of Position:
Under supervision of the Director, provides direct nursing service supervision to the clinic ensuring comprehensive nursing services and quality patient care. The Clinic Manager provides day-to-day immediate management of the clinical operations, thus allowing the Director opportunity to focus on long-term planning, budget, goals, outcomes, decision-making and other higher-level management functions. This position also works closely with the front office manager insuring a productive and efficient clinic. This position also assists with quality review, performance management, customer service, and staffing management.

Supports other functions of the nursing department as necessary.

Position Specifics: This position is a full time salaried position at our Tennessee Oncology Blood & Marrow Transplant (BMT) Centennial clinic location.

Major Duties:

  • Assesses staffing needs, determining the adequate number of nursing personnel necessary to provide safe, quality patient care.
  • Schedules nursing personnel after reviewing daily/weekly schedules.
  • Monitors nursing personnel time, striving to keep overtime at a minimum.
  • Prepares payroll information and forwards to Human Resources when necessary.
  • Maintains employee attendance and vacation/sick time.
  • Oversees the operation of the clinic, facilitating the creation and maintenance of a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Manages the purchasing of supplies and evaluates the need for additional equipment and supplies.
  • Reviews all invoices and billing statements, checking for accuracy, before forwarding them to Accounts Payable.
  • Maintains adequate patient education material, ordering additional material when necessary.
  • Reviews charge tickets on a daily basis to insure that all charges are captured. Review of charge tickets includes, but is not limited to:
    1. Is diagnosis listed? Is staging documented?
    2. Does diagnosis listed support lab test(s) ordered?
    3. Compares lab and x-ray log to the charge ticket to insure all studies have been charged.
    4. Has physician charged Level of Service?
    5. Forwards all charge tickets to charge entry department when complete.
  • Management of the PXYIS System:
    1. Daily reviews the Cost Summary Report
    2. Reviews monthly the Inventory Turnover Report and Waste Activity Report.
    3. Performs weekly drug inventory.
    4. Reviews and makes modifications of the drug par levels quarterly or as needed.
    5. Monitors the expiration dates of medication on a weekly basis.
    6. Reviews daily drug waste.
    7. Assigns all new users passwords and information related to the LYNX.
    8. Works closely with the PXYIS specialist to identify problems with system.
  • Attends monthly clinic managers meeting.
  • Conducts monthly clinic staff meetings to inform the staff of new information and directives that will be implemented.
  • Meets with the front office coordinator on a weekly basis to discuss clinical issues.
  • Performs clinical duties as necessary, which includes but not limited to:
    1. Mixes chemotherapy
    2. Administers chemotherapy
    3. Patient Education
    4. Telephone Triage
    5. Refers patients to appropriate support services
    6. Assists physicians with procedures
    7. Assists lab staff when necessary
    8. Chart preparation
  • Makes self readily available to nursing staff to discuss any issues or concerns.
  • Participates on committees when requested of him/her.
  • Assumes responsibility for personal and professional growth.
  • Strives to maintain a positive work environment for physicians and nurses.
  • Evaluates nursing personnel annually.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 250 pounds assisted

Essential Requirements:

  • A Registered Nurse with Oncology experience (or a professional with equivalent experience in Oncology), preferably in an outpatient facility is the candidate of choice for the position of clinic manager.
  • Current State of Tennessee RN License.
  • Certification in Oncology Nursing is preferable.
  • Experience with BMT is strongly prefered.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to work independently and assume leadership role to accomplish objectives.

Billing Operations Manager, Cancer Center, Dallas, Texas

Summary:

Essential Responsibilities:
Billing Operations Manager: In this multifaceted role, you will supervise all front office processes and direct the daily operation of the Cancer Center billing office to ensure accurate and timely invoicing. Promoting an atmosphere of teamwork, you will compile management and monthly financial reports, educate staff regarding coding convention, recruit/train personnel, coordinate systemwide billing and collections, and analyze/implement fee schedules and audit/billing policies/procedures.

Essential Requirements:
We seek a multi–tasker with in–depth knowledge of physician and facility–based billing processes and eleven years of experience in a physician practice plan, healthcare or medical insurance environment including 3 years in a supervisory capacity (Oncology ideal). Knowledge of EMR platforms (Epic preferred), IDX billing software, CPT, ICD-9 and HCPCS coding guidelines as they relate to the Oncology Service Line is essential. Requires the ability to prepare budgets and present information to physicians, management and staff accurately and in detail. Excellent communication, prioritization, customer service and computer (Word, Excel, Vizio, Access, PowerPoint) skills are required, and a Bachelor's degree and Certified Professional Coder, Advanced Records Technician or Registered Records Administrator are preferred. Knowledge of fund accounting principles is a plus.

Essential Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Health Care or other related field required. Master's degree preferred. In lieu of Bachelor's degree, an Associate's degree plus equivalent related experience may also be considered. Also requires current licensure as appropriate to profession, if applicable. One year prior health care management experience required, with 3 years preferred. Management experience related to mammography services in a clinic setting strongly preferred. Experience working with radiologists and technical staff also preferred.

Essential Responsibilities:
The Clinical Manager is responsible for managing the complex scheduling and staffing needs for departments with large numbers of staff and physicians, multiple scopes of practice, an multiple shift/support needs.

Will also oversee the Primary Care Services department so that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times. Duties include hiring, disciplining, coaching/counseling, orienting and evaluating all qualified personnel for all disciplines involved in home health services.

Essential Requirements:
This position requres a BA/BS or equivalent clinical work experience, current CA Registered Nurse license, and a minimum of 3 years management experience in a clinical setting. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are a must. Demonstrated problem-solving and leadership abilities, and a strong commitment to high-level patient service and satisfaction also required. MA, LVN or RN preferred. Previous working experience in an Oncology or Infusion Center strongly preferred.
