Essential Responsibilities:
The Clinical Nurse Manager BMTU is responsible for planning, organizing, directing and managing resources and supervising daily operations of the BMTU and Outpatient oncology units. Key responsibilities include fiscal oversight, management and development of assigned staff, monitoring for services, and maintaining positive working relationships across the Mercy Health network.

Essential Qualifications:
Current Ohio RN licensure and BLS certification are required, along with 3-5 years of nursing management experience (acute care Oncology/BMT preferred). BSN or MSN degree is a plus. Candidates with ONS chemo credentials and certification in oncology (OCN, AOCN, AOCNS) receive priority consideration.

Manager, Medical Oncology, Sparrow Hospital, Lansing, Michigan

Summary:
The Manager of Medical Oncology manages and coordinates the operational and personnel activities in the Medical Oncology, GYN Oncology clinics and Clinical Trials Office. This includes, but is not limited to, supervision, staffing, systems, patient flow, patient care, expense management and other functions required to maintain an effective service oriented clinic practice.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Develops and implements systems to ensure the quality, efficient, cost-effective operations of the clinic(s).
  • Monitors customer satisfaction and service utilization and initiates short-term corrective actions as needed.
  • Establishes policies, procedures and protocols necessary to accomplish daily tasks, processes and long-range goals consistent with standards established by the health system, Joint Commission, OSHA, ACOS and other regulatory agencies.
  • Administers department personnel management programs to include, but limited to the following: recruiting, interviewing, hiring, orienting, supervising, counseling, disciplining and evaluating nursing and clinic support staff.
  • Initiates, maintains and oversees clinical trials program. Acts as the liaison for the principal investigator and Cancer Center to pharmaceutical companies and study sponsors.
  • Adheres to ICARE values and standards of behavior (Innovation, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence).

Located in Lansing, Michigan, Sparrow Hospital is a 676-bed with an ACOS accredited Cancer Program. The Medical Oncology Practice is QOPI certified as well. Sparrowâ?Ts Cancer Center has four locations with the main location being in Lansing and three satellites at Sparrow Clinton Hospital, Sparrow Ionia Hospital, and Carson City Hospital. The Cancer Center offices the full range of services, including: Medical Oncology, Cancer Surgery, Chemotherapy, Radiation Oncology, Gynecologic Oncology, and Hematology.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required. A Master's degree in Management/Business or related healthcare field is preferred.
  • Five (5) years of Oncology nursing management experience at the manager level or above is preferred in an ambulatory setting.
  • An Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) is preferred.

Oncology Manager, Valley Health's Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Virginia

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of all Radiation Therapy procedures, techniques, equipment, and materials used, as well as a high level of technical proficiency in performing all such procedures at a level generally acquired during two to three years of progressively more responsible experience in Radiation Therapy
  • Demonstrated ability to care for and communicate with adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Manages the day-to-day professional, technical and clerical activities of the Radiation Therapy department and related cancer services (ACS Navigator, RN Coordinator), consistent with organizational goals and provides support to all involved supervisors, and medical staff.
  • Works with the cancer leadership team to implement the service line strategic plan and meet/exceed ACOS Commission on Cancer program requirements
  • Takes a leadership role throughout all cancer program elements in working with all customer groups—patients, families, visitors, WMC personnel, and medical staff—to provide outstanding customer service and lead service recovery initiatives when needed.

Essential Responsibilities:
Strong leader to build social service programs to mirror growth of Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. Manager will be responsible for fully developing social service programs that are reflective of best practices across the country and are inline with the SCCA clinical, research and educational mission. Manager responsible for fiscal management of programs and budgetary development. Responsible for developing collaborative relationships and programs with other supportive care service managers. Responsible for providing professional/clinical supervision, leadership and mentorship to social workers, clinical patient navigator and child life specialist. Will be asked to represent these SCCA program/services at meetings with the partner institutions or other community organizations. May be asked to represent all supportive care services at certain forums in place of the director. Uses clinical judgment and problem solving skills in dealing with risk management issues or patient/family concerns or complaints. Manager will devote some time to providing professional/clinical social work services to patients and families in the SCCA. Provides consultation and services to staff and community.

Training, Education and Experience:

  • Masters Degree in Social Work from an accredited graduate School of Social Work required.
  • Minimum 5 years of managerial/leadership role required, in oncology or healthcare preferred. Washington State registration/certification will be required within two years of hire date.
  • Strong leadership skills required. Budgetary skills required. Strong assessment and crisis intervention skills required. Exceptional verbal, written, interpersonal and customer skills required.
  • Ability to relate to diverse age and demographic backgrounds and capable of working with a diverse customer population.
  • Capable of adapting, solid understanding of professional/clinical social work services to patients and families in the SCCA.
  • Clinical experience highly preferred.
  • Variety of leadership roles, formal or informal desired. Bereavement training helpful. Ability to facilitate trainings, presentations and teach when applicable.
  • Knowledge of basic computer programs required: MS Office, PowerPoint, Charting Electronic Medical Records.
  • Attendance at weekend or evening events may be required. Memberships in local and national professional organizations will be required.
